Chuyện kể về cuộc phiêu lưu của Chihiro - một cô bé10 tuổi - theo ba mẹ chuyển nhà về một vùng quê và đã vô tình lạc vào một thế giới kỳ lạ : "Vùng đất linh hồn"
Do ăn phải thức ăn ở đó mà cha mẹ Chihiro bị biến thành "pig" ...
Sau đó nhờ sự giúp đỡ của Haku một cậu bé "handsome" và bí ẩn Chihiro đã vào làm việc tại một nhà tắm công cộng thuộc quyền quản lý của phù thuỷ Yu-baba, chờ cơ hội cứu cha mẹ cô...

Đây là đỉnh cao trong sự phát triển của Studio Ghibli, là movie anime duy nhất đạt giải Oscar dành cho phim hoạt hình hay nhất năm 2002 và hình như mình có đọc được ở vietnamnet là nó còn là anime duy nhất đứng trong top 10 phim hoạt hình ăn khách nhất mọi thời đại
